Why Learn to Fly in a Recreational Aviation Australia (RAA) registered aircraft?

If you are fit enough to hold an Australian Drivers licence, you can fly.

You need to be 14 years of age to commence training,  under 18 you will need parental permission, and you can hold a RAA pilot Certificate at the age of 15.

You will need around 10 to 15 hours of instruction and you will be close to going SOLO( Depending on your ability ). You will need a minimum total of 20 hours flying time as a student pilot then you will be close to your Pilot Certificate.

Before you go Solo you will need to pass some pre solo exams and Human Factors, there will be other exams before you get your Pilot Certificate which will cover Basic aeronautical Knowledge BAK and Air Law.  These exams are multiple choice and are designed to help you have the necessary knowledge.

Once you get your Pilot Certificate you can do a Passenger carrying endorsement which will require you to do 10 hours as Pilot in Command solo and also get your Cross Country endorsement you will need to do practical navigation exercises under instruction and do a solo navigation exercise.
